Underemployed

Have to make this brief — doing it at work. I am college educated/have a B.A. and some Grad credits. Through the “back door,” I entered the business world and worked my way up to mid-level management in the Employee Benefits/Human Resources arena.
The great “merger craze” of the late 80’s/early 90’s saw me forced out of my Manager position and asked to join field sales. When this proved too draining, I left and relocated to the South Hampton roads region of Virginia — first moving in with my newly retired mother — who encouraged me to get my teaching certificate, which I did.
After teaching for four years, I was completely burnt out. I was able to obtain a position at HSBC where I am underemployed, if I understand the word correctly. This is why I have joined today.
