Need a laugh or a break from your routine? Here is an excerpt from the blogsite www.unemploymentality.com:

“The unemploymentality is a transformative state of mind that is the result of a sudden loss of job. Initial symptoms include spite and resentment towards the ubiquitous “economy.” People in these early stages can often be found at bars and Speakeasys, their heads hung low over a pint. Later stages of the unemploymentality are subtle as it adapts to the individual’s social, political and cultural environment.

You may not be able to identify someone with the unemploymentality until you ask, “So, what do you do for a living?” At which point the person may rant, answer with sarcasm or avoid the question altogether. The advantages of the unemploymentality are countless hours that are often devoted to personal expression and creativity, once job boards and Craigslist have been exhausted for the day.

The purpose of this blog is to report and document the growth of the unemploymentality, case-by-case, as it spreads across the globe in all its glory. Do you have the unemploymentality? …”

I hope the unemploymentality morphs quickly into the CreativeOpportuniticMentality, finding some niche for your skills in the current economy. It’s like looking for common pain-points of others, for which you have the remedy.

You may have to figure out ways to advertise your “solution” product or service in the local Penny Saver publication or Craig’s List or on the bulletin boards in your local libraries and supermarkets. If you find self-marketing annoying, and many dedicated professional employees do, this won’t be easy, nor will negotiating your price/fee. But it’ll give you something to fill the time-gap in your resume, and it may introduce you to your next employer. You never know whom you’ll meet when you’re being creative and industrious, but you do know that you’ll impress them all as a self-starter, problem-solver, and, well as creative and industrious. Those are all qualities your next employer will be looking for.
