I am a psychotherapist with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and licensed in California as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I enjoy my work with patients but with insurance denials, unpaid time doing paperwork, and zero pay for national holidays or a 2 week vacation I worked 50 hours a week last year for 50 weeks and earned only $36,000.

Hi, I’m a published professional writer for 25+ years, hurt my right wrist and hand and arm last year and am still suffering… disability I was told could take TWO years, and you have to go through all the red tape, I have no health insurance, been having difficulty finding jobs… that pay more than $8-10 an hour… $10 an hour in 1978 was great money… but it is now 2007… lived in cheap motels for six months last year… because I could not come up with first, last and deposit… so $36,000 a year sounds GOOD to me…
